Thank you for your interest in the USC Nanofab! The onboarding will differ depending on your affiliation; please follow the procedure below for either USC-internal, non-profit, or for-profit organizations.

User classifications
- Internal includes users affiliated with the University of Southern California (UPC and HSC), CHLA, and ISI.
- Non-profit includes users affiliated with other academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and the government
- For-profit includes all other users including start-up and industry members
Internal - USC user onboarding process
- Complete the new user questionnaire on Qualtrics.
- Complete the USC Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) General Lab Safety (GLS) Training course on the EHS website. This includes a computer-based training on Trojan Learn OR an in-person/Zoom training, AND a GLS Meet and Greet with EHS over Zoom.
- After completing the lab safety class, register for cleanroom access on Docusign.
- The lab coordinator will:
- Enter your information into the billing system
- Confirm access/billing information with your advisor
- Give you access to the facility via your USC card

Non-profit / academic - External user onboarding process

- Multiple users from a single company or entity can be associated with a single registration as long as the billing point of contact is the same.

- Give each individual an iVIP card which provides a user with a USC ID number, which is needed to get access to the building and the facility. The charge for this ID card is $5.
