Thank you for your interest in the USC Nanofab! The onboarding will differ depending on your affiliation; please follow the procedure for either USC-internal, non-profit, or for-profit organizations.

See also Nanofab usage fees.

User classifications

  • Internal includes users affiliated with the University of Southern California (UPC and HSC), CHLA, and ISI.
  • Non-profit includes users affiliated with other academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and the government
  • For-profit includes all other users including start-up and industry members

Internal - USC user onboarding process

  1. Complete the new user questionnaire on Qualtrics.
  2. Complete the USC Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) General Lab Safety (GLS) Training course on the EHS website. This includes a computer-based training on Trojan Learn OR an in-person/Zoom training, AND a GLS Meet and Greet with EHS over Zoom.
  3. After completing the lab safety class, register for cleanroom access on Docusign.
    • The lab coordinator will:
      1. Enter your information into the billing system
      2. Confirm access/billing information with your advisor
      3. Give you access to the facility via your USC card
    • You will then be contacted by facility staff to arrange your Nanofab Orientation date and learn our lab-specific protocols.
